1. Why did you decide to hire a DJ for your event?

I wanted some dancing without the hassle of running back and forth to the radio, CD player, or MP3.

 

2. Please list the three biggest concerns you had BEFORE we actually entertained at your event. (Please describe these concerns in detail – What were you really worried about regarding our service?)

• Cost- we were on a short budget so I knew I could not spend much, but I did not want to lose quality. The Music Guys were more than double what I originally wanted to pay for a DJ.

• Quality- I wanted and needed a good, clean DJ for my reception. There were a lot of kids coming so I needed music that was kid friendly but also had a good beat. I also did not want someone that would ditch the wedding just before or right at a certain time limit. No one wants the music to stop in the middle of a banging party.

• Professionalism- I had several DJs that never returned my calls, some that offered their “assistant” in their absence, and one that said he would be there but cancelled the next day. I needed someone that I could trust to be there on time acting in a professional manner (attire, language, etc).

 

3. Please list the top three things you liked about what we did at your event. (For example, how we got everyone dancing and having fun. Be as enthusiastic as you want!)

• The Music Guys are AMAZING!!!! They were early for my wedding so they had plenty of time to scope the place out and set up. It was pouring rain the whole time. We had the reception under a pavilion but it had standing water all over it. The Music Guys just rolled with the punches and figured it out. The best thing about it: I did not know about the problem until after the wedding. They kept my guests VERY happy. The music selection was family friendly, and very fun. The DJ played fun songs like Pina Colada, The Twist, and the traditional line dances (because it was ok with me, he said). Almost all of my guests were out strutting their stuff. Most of us didn’t know how to dance to the style of music so we just made up our own moves as we laughed with each other. I do not know what I would have done without the “coordinator” aspect of the DJ package. It made it a lot easier for me. The Music Guys set up an excellent agenda and made sure we followed it. They also coordinated with the other vendors at my wedding so that everyone was on the same page. The Music Guys were with me every step of the way, from the weekly emails to comforting me when my photographer cancelled two weeks before my wedding.

• Honesty- The Music Guys were honest and up front about everything. The price he told me on day one was the price I paid in total by the end. He provided me with wonderful references that, honestly, I doubted in the beginning. Now I know that they were an understatement.

• The main event- All of my guests loved The Music Guys! I had at least 4 people ask for his name and number, and several others that said they’ll be calling me for his name the next time they need a DJ. Despite my terrible luck with the rain, tent problems, and electrical failures, everything went off smoothly. The Love Story was amazing, everyone loved it.

• One thing I also appreciated was that The Music Guys only took orders from me. One of my other vendors took orders from parents, in-laws, and random guests! It was a disaster! The Music Guys only did what I said- it is my day anyway, I’m the boss.

• My husband and I are not big into partying or dancing, so we were worried we were not going to have an awesome time. Frankly, we have problems letting go and having fun without a little help from alcohol which was not allowed because of our families. WE CAN’T REMEMER A TIME WHEN WE HAD MORE FUN!!!! We talked about how much fun we had almost every day for a whole week after our wedding. We will never forget the night, and we have The Music Guys to thank.

 

4. Be honest and don’t worry about hurting my feelings – and tell me what specific things I could do to change or improve my performance.

I can’t think of one thing. Everything was wonderful!

 

5. If you were to tell someone who was thinking about hiring us for an event like the one you had, what would you say to him or her?

Book the Music Guys right now! Don’t finish reading this and don’t bother with reading the other reviews he sent you! Yes, it is expensive, but you will not regret your decision. I regret spending so much on my dress, cake, tux rental, and decorations, but not my DJ. The Music Guys are definitely worth every penny- plus some.
