Seriously?? It's been a year?!?

Okay ... so maybe I'm not the best at blog writing these days. After checking the dates on the latest blog and realizing that it's been over a year since I posted anything, I thought I'd better post something to let you know I'm still alive.

I'm still alive.

While COVID shut the world down, it only slowed things down around here at The Music Guys Headquarters. There were a couple of quiet months at first, some postponements and some cancellations. But people still wanted to get married and still wanted to throw parties. Admittedly, I was a bit nervous being around people at first (I inherited my Mom's hypochondria) and had to tell a few tipsy people to back up as they screamed their requests at me but all in all, I made it through unscathed with no COVID here. Got the whole family vaccinated as soon as we could and everything's good now.

Corporate events all but shut down for us. It was counter-productive to tell everyone to work from home ... but hey ... don't miss the Christmas party!!

Reflecting on the last year of parties, not much changed really. A few receptions were very socially distanced ... big fields with tables separated a good distance apart. One wedding only had 12 people in attendance total which was fun and everyone was so nice but wow! When the party's down to 12 people, that usually means pack everything up and head home!

And then came 2021.

And like magic ... we were booking a BUNCH of weddings and receptions. Either people felt safe after several months of this mess or they're just tired of waiting for the "all clear".

Saying this as someone who took COVID very seriously, I think we're really close to that "all clear" sign. I've even gone to Lowe's a few times with no mask on (And man, did it feel weird).
